STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO – “People dancing in the snow to your music – I mean, what’s better than that?” says Z. Lupetin, lead singer/songwriter for Dustbowl Revival. “I think it takes the rowdiest people on the planet to put on their snow pants and their ski jackets and go outside and enjoy music in the middle of the winter.”

But that’s just the culture of WinterWonderGrass. It’s a festival like no other.

Locals, visitors, and friends from near and far gather in a parking lot for a weekend full of energetic bluegrass jams, magical musical collaborations, and non-stop dancing, because after all, they are outside in the middle of winter…in Colorado.

Returning to the Knoll Lot at Steamboat Resort for the festival’s ten-year celebration in Colorado, WinterWonderGrass is scheduled to take place February 25-27 in Steamboat Springs.

“It’s one of our favorite festivals we’ve ever played, partially because it’s very welcoming of genre-bending bands like us,” Lupetin says. A mash up of great harmony and folk music, mixed with funky New Orleans soul and heavy influences of blues and rock and roll, best describes the music of Dustbowl Revival. The LA-based band is eager to return to the valley and give the audience a little taste of the groovy soul songs and folk-rock harmony ballads that comprise the band’s live performance.

So, what sets Dustbowl Revival apart? “The guy/girl harmony,” Lupetin says. Dustbowl Revival added young vocal talent, Lashon Halley, to bring new life and energy to the songs, matching Lupetin’s exceptional vocal range with her own. “Lashon and I together in harmony is the real powerhouse of the energy behind us,” Lupetin says. “Seeing Lashon come into her own this year has been an awesome thing to witness. She’s a star.”

Emerging from a touring hiatus due to the pandemic, Dustbowl Revival is scheduled to play three sets at the iconic bluegrass festival, followed by a short tour run with The Infamous Stringdusters in California and the Pacific Northwest.

“We’re just excited to get out there and play again,” Lupetin says. “Our energy is high, and we’ve been having the most fun we’ve had in a long time.”
