Bud Light Rocks the Boat returns to Steamboat Springs this March, continuing a local tradition that has blended live music with mountain-town energy for years. Originally launched as a way to bring nationally touring artists into an intimate, high-altitude setting, the series has grown into a staple of Steamboat’s winter and spring cultural scene – offering a mix of genres that reflect both the town’s laid-back vibe and its appetite for high-quality live performances.
Kicking off this season on Saturday, March 7 is New Orleans keyboardist John “Papa” Gros, a musician whose career spans more than three decades. Known for channeling the spirit of his hometown, John combines funk, traditional jazz, brass band influences and blues into a sound he calls his own musical “gumbo.” His latest solo album, “Central City,” captures that signature New Orleans feel-good energy, featuring collaborations with some of the city’s most celebrated players. As he puts it, “Sharing New Orleans with the world is my calling.” His performance promises to bring that vibrant culture straight to Steamboat.
The momentum continues throughout the season with a diverse lineup of artists. Upcoming shows include J & the Causeways on Saturday, March 14, Wheeland Brothers on Saturday, March 21, and Sneezy on Saturday, March 28. April brings even more variety, with The Sweet Lillies on Saturday, April 4, Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel on Saturday, April 11 and a special performance from reggae legends The Wailers on Sunday, April 12.
With its mix of touring acts and distinctive sounds, Bud Light Rocks the Boat once again delivers a concert series that keeps Steamboat’s live music scene thriving well into the spring.
