The 2025-26 Ski Edition is hitting shelves and mailboxes this week. This year, it's also the Olympic Edition and we profiled 18 Steamboat Springs athletes with Olympic dreams in February. They told us about their goals, how they remained resilient after injury and gave us a look into how they got to where they are today. They also shared their favorite pregame rituals, jet lag tips and pump-up songs. You can find all that and more in the pages of this Ski Edition and online, right here.
Also in this edition: an inside look at what ski gear you might need this season (but first, snow), a profile of Park Smalley and his induction into the U.S. National Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and an Olympian-turned-artist...any guesses on who that might be? (Turn to page 34 to find out.)
On the cover of this edition is snowboarder Maddy Schaffrick, shot by Isami Kiyooka courtesy of U.S. Ski and Snowboard. Read her profile first, right here. Maddy has had an unusual journey: she was born and raised in Steamboat Springs and was on the U.S. snowboard halfpipe team by age 14. Years of competitive snowboarding were followed by burnout, a return to her hometown, a rekindling of her love for the sport and now a viable shot at the Olympics. "It would mean a lot to me in a way that I can't really describe," Maddy told us.
We know who we're rooting for come February. All this and more in the 2025-26 Ski Edition.
