Mythology Distillery is excited to announce the soft opening of “Mythology Mountainside,” a pop-up location at the base of the mountain, in the former Routtie’s space. The pop-up opens today, Thursday, Jan. 9, from noon-6 p.m. Known for its award-winning spirits and expertly crafted cocktails, Mythology Mountainside will offer a nod to the original tasting room on the west end of Steamboat Springs.

Steamboat Resort Corporation sought fresh, innovative concepts to fill the space, launching the application process in November and finalizing their decision mid-December. Mythology owner Scott Yeates said, “I wanted to offer something unique that’s not easily found on the mountain. I hope it resonates with both locals and visitors by delivering the same relaxed vibe as our tasting room, while providing a welcoming spot to gather and enjoy a high-quality cocktail.”

The pop-up features seating for 50 guests, including long community tables and bar seating inside. Outdoors, there’s ample space on the patio, with cozy spots around firepits to relax and warm up. While this pop-up is a seasonal offering for the winter, Scott hopes that a mountain-side Mythology will become a permanent fixture.

For those looking to make a splash, the pop-up offers an incentive for “big shots” who ring the bell at the bar and drop $1,000 on shots. The reward? The big shots are entered into a raffle to win a specialty Mythology Whiskey Barrel at the end of the ski season. Drinks for you, whiskey for them – it’s a win-win!

In addition to a selection of delicious cocktails, the pop-up will feature small bites like soup dumplings and charcuterie. A standout cocktail is the Pickled Whiskey Sour, created by Quinton Bennett, a former Steamboat local. This unique cocktail combines bourbon, thyme simple syrup, pickle brine and lemon juice, finished with a dill-salted rim made by Steamboat Salt Co.

To warm up, bar manager Genevieve Redman has crafted the perfect butter for the Hot Buttered Bourbon. It’s made with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar topped with infused whipped cream – the perfect indulgence to beat the chill.

For those craving something familiar, the pop-up will also offer crushable draft cocktail favorites like the Jalapeno Hibiscus Lemonade, Old Fashioneds and rotating beers from Storm Peak.

Regular hours for Mythology Mountainside will be Thursday through Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
