Our second gift guide is here...perfect gifts for your local ski bum or outdoor enthusiast (AKA everyone in Steamboat).

1. “Colorado Lake Hikes,” by Dave Muller. This book showcases 100 hikes to 145 different lakes across the state – a hiker's dream guide! The book includes four difficulty levels, color photos and maps, along with detailed driving directions and breakdowns of each hike. It’s the perfect way to find the best high-alpine lake to take a summer dip. $24.95 from Off the Beaten Path (68 Ninth St.)

 2. Goodr Wrap G Sunglasses. These sunglasses are polarized, feature large lenses, and have no slip/no bounce technology - perfect for biking, running or any outdoor activity. If the Wrap G style isn’t for you, Goodr has a large selection of frames at prices that won’t break the bank. They also have kids sizes! $25-$35 from Ski Haus (1457 Pine Grove Rd) or Sunglasses on Main (635 Lincoln Ave, Unit S)

 3. An Ohana trucker hat. Hats are a wardrobe staple here in Steamboat Springs, so why not add another to the collection? Ohana is a Colorado-based lifestyle brand that showcases goods designed and screen printed by hand. Pick up a screen printed hat, tote or tee. Trucker hats are $28 from Ohana (843 Lincoln Ave.) or visit its sister store, Upcountry (827 Lincoln Ave.)

 4. Lost Range Muscle & Joint Rub to take care of sore legs after a powder day. Lost Range’s CBD products are specifically designed to ease muscle and joint pain. They're handcrafted in small batches with all-natural, hand-selected ingredients from Colorado. $35-$59 from Lost Range, 2835 Downhill Plaza # 601.

5. WhatVest Skins/River Bag. Give the backcountry enthusiast a bag to store their skins. Local Steamboat resident Josh Burton is the co-owner of WhatVest. You might have seen him – and his iconic mustache – on the slopes or on the river. For river lovers, check out the Guide's Choice Throw Bag. $28 for Skin Bag and $100-$130 for Guide's Choice Throw Bag; purchase online at whatvest.com.

 6. Give the gift of Grass Sticks – the ultimate ski pole –  this winter. Lightweight and fully customizable, from the pole strap to the basket color, any ski bum would love this gift. Bonus:   they’re made right here in Steamboat. If your outdoor enthusiast is more of a river rat, consider a custom paddle or a custom plunger for a fun and affordable gift. Note: ski pole orders must be received by Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. for estimated delivery by Christmas. $119 for ski poles, $209 for custom paddle, and $38 for custom plunger; grasssticks.com.
