The Yampa Valley is brimming with artistic talent, as artists come from far and wide to gain inspiration from this mountain landscape. An ever-expanding array of art galleries, venues and performances define Steamboat’s arts community and promise to make your visit inspiring.

Steamboat Creates, housed in the historic Depot Art Center, is celebrating its 50th year of helping the arts flourish. This organization hosts local art exhibits, live theater, music, films, events, workshops and youth camps. The Riverwalk Collective, also housed at the Depot Art Center, provides a one-of-a-kind platform for local artists to showcase their artwork.

Head to downtown Lincoln Avenue during First Friday Artwalk, a monthly event that provides the opportunity to tour local galleries and meet the artists on display. Tread of Pioneers Museum showcases historical photography, generations of history, and events that pay tribute to Steamboat’s Western heritage. The Steamboat Art Museum is another excellent choice to view world-renowned artists’ works in downtown Lincoln Avenue.

Music on the Green showcases nature-inspired free outdoor concerts at Yampa River Botanic Park the whole family will adore. Perry Mansfield Performing Arts School & Camp presents intimate workshops, showcases, and events at a campus in Strawberry Park that is rich with history. The Keepin’ It Free concert series at Howelsen Hill hosts nationally recognized artists at the oldest ski area west of the Mississippi.

Bud Werner Memorial Library hosts presentations from authors and filmmakers for everyone to enjoy. Steamboat’s Farmer’s Market is yet another great destination to view and buy local artists’ works.
