Ski Jumping

How old were you when you started ski jumping? 

I started going off the ski jumps when I was 3. I was 9 years old when I started on jump skis.  

What has been your proudest moment so far? 

My proudest moment was winning USA Nordic’s U.S. Ski Jumping Championship last year. 

What is your favorite aspect of ski jumping? 

Flying, and the feeling of a good jump. 

Who do you consider your biggest role model? 

One of my role models, when I was younger, was Sarah Hendrickson. She’s a very good athlete and works hard at everything she does. She’s also had very good results, including winning the Ski Jumping World Cup. She is also an advocate for women in sport. My other role model is my brother, Erik. He is also a ski jumper who has pushed me to work hard throughout my life.  

Do you have any lucky charms or superstitions leading up to a competition? 

I like to bring my special pillow with me when I travel for competition.
