STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, COLORADO The sound of pounding feet will again echo across the Yampa Valley this weekend as runners in the 40th Steamboat Marathon and 10K make their way toward the finish line in downtown Steamboat Springs.

With both races finishing in the heart of downtown, the event brings street closures for most of the day on Sunday, June 6.

From 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. one westbound lane of Lincoln Avenue and street parking will be closed from 5th to 11th Streets for the finish of all races. In addition, 6th & 8th Streets between Lincoln Avenue and Oak Street will be closed for race activities on Sunday. A rolling closure on 5th Street from Lincoln to Oak may be encountered Sunday morning, between 6am to 8:45am.

When traveling US40 west of downtown and along Routt County Road 129 (Elk River Road), anticipate numerous runners, support vehicles and emergency apparatus on the road and please slow down and give ample room when moving by.

The 40th annual running of the Steamboat Marathon, Half Marathon (virtually) and 10K takes in the roaring Elk River Valley through the emerald pastures on Country Road 129 with the snow-capped Rocky Mountains of Colorado all around. The Steamboat Marathon was ranked as one of the Top 10 Destination Marathons in North America and is a signature event of the Steamboat Chamber and community.
