9 Essential Runs At The Steamboat Ski Area

Rainbow is an easily accessible run and allows for convenient lift access.
1. Stampede
Accessed via: Christie Peak Express lift, getting off at mid-station
Difficulty: Easy
Perks: Easily accessible, wide-open and low-impact. Good for quick laps on the Christie Peak Express lift. The only green run that’s lit during night skiing.
2. Sundial
Accessed via: Sunshine Express lift
Difficulty: Easy
Perks: Gets lots of sun on bluebird days. Highest-elevated beginner run on the mountain, with great views of the Flat Tops. Takes you to Rendezvous Way, which makes it a great pre-lunch option on the way to Rendezvous Lodge.
3. Buddy’s Run
Accessed via: Storm Peak Express lift
Difficulty: Intermediate
Perks: Great corduroy early in the morning, and plenty of rollers along the edges. Excellent option for groups of skiers with varying skill-levels.
4. One O’Clock/Two O’Clock
Accessed via: The right side of High Noon
Difficulty: Intermediate
Perks: Gradual slopes and widely spaced bumps ideal for easing one’s way into mogul skiing.
5. Rainbow
Accessed via: Just below Four Points Lodge
Difficulty: Intermediate
Perks: A gentle cruiser that’s easily accessible and offers options to reach many different areas at the bottom via Burgess Creek, Four Points and Storm Peak lifts.
6. Tomahawk
Accessed via: Sunshine Express lift
Difficulty: Intermediate
Perks: A long, rolling run perfect for getting a taste of early morning corduroy.
7. Chute 1
Accessed via: Morningside Lift
Difficulty: Expert
Perks: Steep, exhilarating skiing and bragging rights.
8. Cyclone
Accessed via: Below the Bar UE chairlift
Difficulty: Expert
Perks: A steep, wide, regularly groomed run that’s perfect for satisfying the need for speed.
9. Triangle 3
Accessed via: Between the tops of Bar UE and Storm Peak lifts
Difficulty: Expert
Perks: Balances a tantalizing mix of excellent tree skiing and powder skiing.
