Jeff Daniels Named Guest Services Director for Steamboat Ski Resort

Jeff Daniels has been named the new director of Guest Services, overseeing all Guest Services, Ambassador and Service Excellence programs for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation beginning June 20, 2016. Daniels has been with the resort in Steamboat Central Reservations® since 2000, serving as the manager of Central Reservations since 2005.

“We pride ourselves on providing the best customer service in the industry and Jeff has been at the forefront of that movement, making it a seamless fit for him to direct our Guest Services department,” said Jim Schneider, vice president of skier services for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation.  “Jeff’s wealth of knowledge, passion for success and strong community ties will allow Steamboat to excel with internal and external customer service and we look forward to seeing him develop in his new role.”

Guest Services director is a newly created position at the resort, and in it Daniels will manage the Ambassador program during summer and winter as well as the Service Excellence program, oversee the Summer Bike Park and activities businesses, coordinate with all other summer department directors and managers, and work to provide superior summer and winter experiences for guests and staff. As director of the Guest Services department, Daniels will be charged with continuing to provide and enhance the excellent guest and employee service that Steamboat is known for across the industry.

Daniels brings a long history of guest experience management and leadership to his new role with more than 25 years of knowledge in the travel, sales, guest services and transportation industries. He began with Steamboat Central Reservations (SCR) in 2000 as a travel manager to bring expertise, efficiency and leadership specifically in air transportation to the sales center operations. During his tenure at SCR, Daniels improved service quality while reducing costs through implementation of new standards and methodology, ultimately leading to his promotion to manager of Steamboat Central Reservations. At the helm of SCR, Daniels grew sales, fostered communication and relationships, and helped create innovate programs during shifting sales channels and economic challenges. Prior to SCR, Daniels was director of logistics at Central PA Auto Auction and station manager at US Airways Express serving Pennsylvania, Allegheny and PSA Airlines.

Jeff is an active member of the Steamboat community, serving the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association as board member from 2013-2014 and on the Marketing Committee since 2005, including as chairperson  in 2013-14 and as vice chairperson in 2012-13. Daniels also served on the board of directors and Marketing Committee for Emerald Mountain School from 2012 through May 2016.

Daniels studied economics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and resides in Steamboat with his wife and two children. He will begin his new role on June 22 and will report directly to Jim Schneider, vice president of skier services for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation.
