Strings Music Festival’s production director and Different Tempo series program coordinator, Steve Chambers has called Steamboat home since 1989. After 20 years on the road traveling as a tour manager for major bands, he still likes checking out the vibes around town, while hanging out with wife, Solange, and 1-year-old daughter, Jasmine.

Best place to see a live show in town?

It would have to be the Strings Pavilion.

Favorite spot to see a local band?

Sunset happy hours are a blast, and I'm a big Schmiggity's fan.

Your go-to place for après ski on the mountain?

The whole Slopeside corner is great, but the Paramount for sure.

Fun way to chill out?

A swim in the river or a soak in the hot springs, followed by a cruiser ride downtown for a little Yampa Street bar hopping.

Ultimate Steamboat plate?

Mahogany Ridge Brewery's blackened salmon noodle bowl, as well as everything else on the menu is perfect for any crew, any time.

Ideas for a guys’ night on the town?

Thirsty Thursday bike ride on Emerald Mountain, then straight to burgers and beers at Carl's; always a perfect combination.

What about a little night of romance, Steamboat style?

The beginning and the ending vary but the middle is always Café Diva.

Any tips on how to dress?

Hmm, anything goes, although I was very bluntly informed there is no such thing as “good” Carhartts.
