Q. What’s on your warm-up
playlist?
A. Anything that makes me want to sing, dance or get fired up. It could
be anything from Ke$ha to country. It really just depends on the day.
Q. What is the worst skiing
accident you’ve ever been in?
A. I have had two season-ending knee injuries, but neither of the
crashes were very crazy. So I have to say, my favorite crazy crash was when I
was about four; I hit a deep patch of snow and double ejected out of both my
boots and skis, it’s one of my first skiing memories.
Q. Where is the coldest
place you’ve ever skied?
A. Lake Louise in Canada.
Q. How do you train during
the summer?
A. When I am not chasing the snow around the world, I spend time in
between Steamboat and Park City. I love riding my mountain bike, hiking,
running and playing games, but I also spend a lot of time at the gym.
Q. What’s the craziest dream
you’ve ever had?
A. I do not remember my dreams very often but when I do, I usually wake
up slightly concerned for my own mental health.
Q. What’s your favorite
concert venue?
A. Telluride Bluegrass.
Q. What would you do
if you won the lottery?
A. I would give half of the money to my parents for retirement (It’s the
least I could do to pay off my endless ski racing debt.), and I would set the
rest aside so I could ski and travel for the rest of my life.
Q. Where do you see yourself
in 10 years?
A. This is the million-dollar question. I will be skiing. That’s the
only thing I can guarantee.
Q. What is your favorite
memory made in Steamboat?
A. Camping with the Lowell Whiteman School on Buffalo Pass in September
and waking up to two feet of snow on the tent. Cannot think of a better ‘we
will laugh about this later’ memory.
Q. Whose autograph would you
like to get in Sochi?
A. Hockey players. Any of them!
Q. Which chairlift in
Steamboat do you think has the best views?
A. Morningside. There is a 360-degree view of the whole Yampa Valley
from the Flat Tops to Sleeping Giant.
Q. Who is the most important
person in your life?
A. My brother, Max.
