Steamboat Springs, CO -
Q. Who is your
biggest role model?
A. Mostly my mum.
She has guided and supported me through snowboarding from a very young
age.
Q. Do you have a
signature article of clothing you wear when competing?
A. I always wear my XTM gloves when
I compete – and a face mask. I guess you can call it a bit of a lucky charm, or
a ritual.
Q. How do you like
to relax?
A. Working out, funny enough, is
really relaxing for me. It calms my mind down and I’m only focusing on
the exercise, nothing else.
Q. What’s on your
warm-up playlist?
A. A lot of music that has a bit of
up beat. I listen to a lot of drum and bass like Sub Focus. I'm really
into them right now.
Q. Who are your
sponsors?
A. Mark Adams Real Estate, Bolle,
Virus Action Sport Performance, XTM, SISU Mouthguards, GNC Frankston and Orbit
Fitness.
Q. If you weren’t
a professional athlete, what would you want to be?
A. I would be an architect!
Q. How do you like
to celebrate a victory?
A. I'm not a big party person,
but I would just chill out with my teammates. I'd be so tired after a long day
of racing!
Q. What’s your
favorite junk food?
A. Red Velvet Cake. I love it so
much.
Q. Describe your
perfect day.
A. Snowboard in the morning, surf in
the afternoon and just hang out with some friends.
Q. What’s the most
unusual gift you’ve ever received?
A. I haven't. But
I've received a packet of soup in the mail. I have no idea where or
who it came from.
Q. Which three
words describe you best?
A. Determined, humble and confident.
(You could throw in a bit of a goof-ball too.)
Q. Which song do
you know all the lyrics to?
A. One Republic’s “Counting Stars”
and Christina Novelli’s “Concrete Angel.”
Q. Where do you
see yourself in 10 years?
A. I see myself with a bachelor’s degree
in architecture, and going for my fourth Olympic Games.
