Steamboat Springs, CO - Ride the longest and fastest gondola in North America at the Steamboat Ski Area this winter, as the resort enters the final phase of its multi-year, $200 million-plus renovation project. The Wild Blue Gondola takes skiers and riders through a mid-station adjacent to Bashor Bowl on their way to the top of Sunshine Peak, going from the ski area base to the summit in just 13 minutes.

Wild Blue is one of the most transformational pieces of the entire “Full Steam Ahead” renovation project, easing congestion at the Steamboat Gondola, changing the traffic flow and opening the mountain to beginner and advanced skiers and riders. Enhanced snowmaking on the runs around Sunshine Peak ensure that the most popular terrain is open by the peak holiday season.

Also new this winter is Mahogany Ridge, 650 additional acres of advanced/ expert terrain that will make Steamboat the second largest ski resort in Colorado. Beware: the terrain in the Mahogany Ridge area is technical with lots of steep chutes and gladed, natural terrain. Ignoring the ski area boundaries in this area could be life-threatening; rescue will be costly.

When you’re ready for a break, the new Range Food & Drink Hall is open in Gondola Square. Grab a seat by one of the fire pits to warm up with a drink from the bar or order lunch for the whole family from a variety of vendors offering sandwiches, ramen and tacos.

One thing that hasn’t changed: Steamboat’s famous Champagne Powder®.

We’ll see you out there!
