Don a cowboy hat, pull on your boots and round up your family for the Steamboat Pro Rodeo. At Brent Romick Rodeo Arena, you’ll find one of the most beloved and longest-running Western traditions in Steamboat Springs, with roots tracing back more than 100 years.

The rodeo features the iconic and thrilling competitions of the Old West: bareback riding, team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, bull riding and even a ram scramble for youngsters. Get there early to hear live music and grab a bite at the rodeo BBQ, or quench your thirst with a variety of beverage options. The rodeo is family-friendly, with rodeo clowns and roping games that keep even the antsiest group of kiddos on the edge of their seats.

The Steamboat Pro Rodeo takes place on Friday and Saturday nights in July and August, two blocks from Main Street near the base of Howelsen Hill. Each rodeo lasts roughly two hours, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Park at the rodeo grounds, at the nearby Howelsen Hill Sports Complex, or take a short walk from downtown Steamboat to avoid post-rodeo traffic. And remember to bring an extra layer – once that hot sun sinks down behind the mountains, you’ll be glad you did.

The Steamboat Pro Rodeo takes place every Friday and Saturday from June 23 - August 26, 2023.
