Grant Writing for Arts-related Businesses and Nonprofits

By Crystal A. Polis

Hosted by Steamboat Creates

Tuesday, October 26th 12:00 – 1:00 PM

$30 ($25 for SC Members)

This workshop is for individual artists and organizations. When you are the owner of a small business or the director of a small nonprofit, you don’t have the luxury of a Development department. You do it all, either on your own or with only a few team members. You want to devote most of your working time to CREATING, right? But deadlines for Grant applications, Calls for Entries, Call for Artists, Artist Residencies, Requests for Proposals are always looming over you. Hear from a professional grant writer how you CAN manage this part of your workload without feeling overwhelmed.

Learn how to:

  • Find opportunities
  • Sharpen your Artist Statement or Mission Statement
  • Deliver a compelling narrative
  • Make a Project Budget
  • Align your expectations

This is also your opportunity to bring your latest grant application (in progress or already submitted) to a professional grant writer and receive honest feedback and a fresh perspective. We will discuss how to avoid common mistakes and how to make your application as competitive as possible.

This workshop is presented online through Zoom. The workshop link will be emailed one day before the start of the workshop. Can’t make it at this time? No problem! Register to receive the workshop recording to watch at your convenience.
