| New Artist's Gallery Showcases Professional & Emerging Artists In Steamboat Springs
Steamboat Springs, CO Nov 24, 2006 The Artists' Gallery of Steamboat opened its doors to the public on Friday, November 24, 2006. A group of 25 regional Colorado artists leased the historic Pilot Newspaper building, and transformed it into a stunning exhibition of art and creativity in the Yampa Valley. Nearly 600 people were in attendance at the gallery's inaugural reception, and all were thrilled to see this fantastic new venue in Steamboat Springs.
The Artists' Gallery of Steamboat will host a Holiday Open House each Friday in December from 5 - 8pm. Visitors will enjoy refreshments while perusing the gallery's collection, and may enter a drawing to win a $100 Gallery Gift Certificate. The gallery caters to a wide variety of tastes, interests and budgets. Represented artists work in an array of mediums: two dimensional works such as oils, watercolors, pastels, photographs and prints; three dimensional works such as jewelry, textiles and sculpture.
Art Meets West...
The enclaves of the Rocky Mountains have long been home to multitudes of talented creative artists, most of whom are searching for a venue to present and sell their work. Steamboat is a particularly fortunate mountain town, as in addition to world-class skiing and resort amenities, it is home to a vibrant, diverse community of artists.
Now the work of these artists comes together under one spacious roof in Downtown Steamboat Springs. The artists themselves staff the gallery, adding a level of expertise not found in every large gallery, while simultaneously creating an environment that allows visitors to meet some of the areas most talented residents.
