PHOTOGRAPHY & PERSONAL VISION RANCH WORKSHOP & RETREAT
Featured by Colorado Meetings and Events magazine, as one of the “Top 15 Unique Experiences for VIPs in Colorado,” Focus Adventures is again offering a unique photo workshop here in northwest Colorado. From August 22nd – the 28th, Karen Schulman, owner of Focus Adventures, will work with a small group of photographers at Focus Ranch, in Slater, Colorado. During the workshop, Photography & Personal Vision, Karen will guide participants to explore their photographic vision and creative spirit through a combination of sensory exercises, group reviews, ranch activities and personal time. In addition to the photography sessions, participants will enjoy delicious meals, comfortable lodging and opportunities to enjoy various optional activities.

Whether working with a small group or focusing on individual participants, photographic artist Karen Schulman believes photography to be part of a bigger picture: manifesting creative spirit and self-discovery through the art of seeing. Since 1985, Schulman’s unique programs have encouraged participants to honor themselves by awakening their creative spirit. She uses a “whole brain,” experiential approach in her teaching, which her adult learners find appropriate for their learning styles.
“What the camera does best is reveal and reflect our worlds, which leads directly to the discovery of parts of ourselves,” says Schulman. "Photography offers us the opportunity to balance our thinking with feeling, our intellect with intuition, as we respond to the world through our images. It is a way of expressing ourselves artistically but with technical competence. The more we learn to ‘see’ with our mind, heart and spirit, the more of an adventure life becomes."
