STARS Inaugural Floatin’ the ‘Boat Adaptive Fishing Camp 
For People with Physical Disabilities 
June 26 & 27, 2010
 
 
This two-day event is a unique opportunity for people with physical disabilities 
to experience world-class fly fishing in Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Steamboat Springs, CO (May 17, 2010) – STeamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports (STARS)
announces the Inaugural Floatin’ the ‘Boat Adaptive Fishing Camp for people with physical
disabilities and their families in Steamboat Springs, Colorado from June 25-27, 2010. The camp
provides opportunities for adults and children with physical disabilities to enhance their quality of
life in the Rocky Mountains. 
 
This is a two day camp targeting people with physical disabilities of all ages, looking to improve their
skills, socialize, and experience the magic of some of the best fly and rod-n-reel fishing in the world.
These participants have physical disabilities including, but not limited to: amputations, cerebral palsy,
spina bifida, spinal cord injuries, and visual impairment.  Coaches for the camp will include experts
from STARS and pro staff from Steamboat Flyfisher 
 
“STARS is really making an effort to have a more comprehensive adaptive presence in Colorado,”
says STARS Board of Directors President Jim Schneider.  “And Steamboat is really stepping up to
the plate to help support all of these new camps and to welcome these adaptive athletes from all
over the world.”   
 
“We are really excited to be working with Steamboat Flyfisher to help create this new camp and new
opportunities for people with disabilities in Steamboat and around Colorado” says STARS Camps
Coordinator Craig Kennedy.  “Northwest Colorado is finally catching up with the rest of the state in
terms of adaptive programs.” states Kennedy.
 
The camp schedule is focused mainly on socialization and individual skill with a heavy emphasis on
having fun and enjoying the outdoors.
