Steamboat Springs-based sandwich shop expands with fourth location

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO (April 12, 2010) - Backcountry Provisions, a Steamboat Springs-based speciality sandwich shop, opened their fourth location Thursday, April 8th at 1617 Wazee Street in Denver, CO.  Backcountry Provisions also has established shops in Steamboat Springs, CO,  Ft. Collins CO, and Jackson Hole, WY.

Backcountry Provisions is known for innovative, creative sandwich combinations, using only the freshest, premium quality, imported and domestic meats and cheeses.  The ever-popular Pilgrim, voted one of the best in America by Esquire Magazine in 2008, features roasted turkey, Muenster cheese, seasoned stuffing, lettuce and cranberry chutney.

"It’s exciting bringing a taste of the outdoor mountain sandwich lifestyle to LoDo,” said David Mischell, co-owner and manager of the Denver Backcountry Provisions.  “Our signature sandwich combinations are perfect to enjoy in the shop and for daily adventures to the trailhead or office.”

Founders/co-owners Peter Boniface & Dave Pepin, opened the first Backcountry Provisions in Steamboat Springs, CO in 2000.  High school buddies from Massachusetts, the friends moved to Steamboat Springs in the mid ‘90s to ride single-track and ski bottomless powder.

Peter and Dave’s vision was to open a sandwich shop that uses only the best all-natural artisan products and provides exceptional personalized service in a fun environment.  Their success in Steamboat lead to additional Backcountry Provisions opening in Jackson Hole in 2005 and Ft. Collins in 2007.

“We enjoy sharing our passion for a great meal and the great outdoors with our customers,” said Boniface.  “The entire Backcountry Provisions staff looks forward to developing new relationships and becoming part of the Denver community.”

Open seven days a week from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, every Backcountry Provisions location offers breakfast items, an extensive sandwich menu including kids favorites, build-your-own options, daily specials, salads, fresh-baked cookies and brownies, assorted soft drinks, and catering services including party platters and custom box lunches.

Similar to other Backcountry Provisions’, the new shop in LoDo is located in a historic building, features a mountain theme, stunning photography and Colorado map table tops.  Call 303.534.7900 for orders and more details.  The complete menu can be found online at: www.backcountryprovisions.com.
