 David Chase hosts an opening reception at his beautiful downtown location David Chase Rugs & Furniture for two of Steamboat's popular artists:
Painter and sculptor Christopher Oar will unveil his newest metal sculpture. This piece is a model for a large installation slated for Australia in 2010. He is also showing five new (and exciting) large canvas works. Oar's paintings reflect the bold strokes of his metal work and illuminate elements of his passion and talent for both sculpture and painting.
Dipping into her New West modernist style of approaching landscape, Susan Schiesser will be showing a sampling of new works from her canoe series, based on experiences in Roatan, Honduras. Canoe is a continuance of the body of work at her recent exhibition at Cella Gallery in North Hollywood (www.cellagallery.com), plus, a preview piece from her upcoming exhibit in Santa FE.
The Artist's works will be on display through the end of February 2009.
