| 1/26/09 - Please Help Find VID (very important dog) |
Please Help – Tom Thurston was training his sled dogs Wednesday night, Jan. 21, and was camping near Encampment (North Routt/WY). Tom went to sleep around 10:30pm and when he woke up at 12:00am his main lead dog had pulled out of her collar and run off. We have been searching the trails from Columbine to Encampment yesterday and today. This dog could run 100 miles a day. She could be anywhere.
She is a white female husky with a pink nose. She has no collar but may still be wearing a blue dog sledding harness. Her name is Darla and should come to you if you called her. She is a very special dog to us and an intricate part of Tom's dog team. We are offering a $1,000 reward to the person who finds her.
Please pass this along – especially to any backcountry person who might be out playing in North Routt/WY area (or who might want to go out and help search).
Thanks,
Tom and Tami Thurston
