8/3/06 - Celebrate the senses with 500 fine wines during the Steamboat Wine Festival
What: The Steamboat Wine Festival, a weekend celebration of culinary delights, wine tastings and outdoor activities, returns for its third year offering attendees the opportunity to sniff, swirl and sip their way through this fantastic weekend. Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the Festival will feature an Opening Reception at the top of Thunderhead, a Grand Tasting with live entertainment and a Steel Chef Competition, several Wine Makers’ Dinners featuring cuisine by award-winning chefs from around the state of Colorado, and a number of Wine and Food Seminars covering a variety of topics. New this year, attendees can also stroll down Steamboat’s Main Street and throughout downtown while sampling more than 250 wines and an array of culinary delights as part of the Stroll of Steamboat. When: August 3-6, 2006 Reserve Tasting & Reception: Thunderhead Lodge, Thursday, August 3, 5 to 8 p.m. Stroll of Steamboat: Downtown Steamboat, Friday, August 4, 4 to 7 p.m. Toast of Steamboat Grand Tasting: Torian Plum Plaza, Saturday, August 5, 3 to 6 p.m. Wine Makers’ Dinners: Various Steamboat Restaurants, throughout the weekend Wine and Food Seminars: Steamboat Grand Meeting Rooms, Friday, Aug. 4 and Saturday, Aug. 5 Where: Steamboat Springs, CO What Else: Silent and live auctions during the event, private Wine Makers’ Dinners and event funds benefit the Steamboat Springs Arts Council Charities, a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting programs in the arts and humanities for the enjoyment, enrichment and education of residents and visitors of Steamboat Springs.
