Kara Givnish Named Special Events Director for the Steamboat
Springs Chamber Resort Association

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO – The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association welcomes Kara
Givnish as the new Special Events Director. Givnish will assume the responsibilities from Matt Windt
who has taken a position with Vail Resorts.

“We are delighted to welcome Kara to our marketing team,” said Sandy Evans Hall, executive vice
president of the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association. “Her experience and her vivacious spirit
will help us produce the best events possible.”

Givnish comes to the Chamber Resort Association with experience as an event producer with
Philadelphia-based ESM Productions.

In her new special events role, Givnish will be responsible for implementing the Steamboat Springs
Chamber Resort Association’s events including Winter Carnival Street Events, Steamboat Marathon,
Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, Fourth of July Parade, Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Labor Day
Weekend’s Wild West Air Fest. She is also responsible for overseeing the allocation of special event
funding which is earmarked for marketing non-ski season events, sponsorship management including
soliciting event sponsorship dollars and is the contact for the Chamber website’s community calendar.

“This is an important community position and I am eager to be involved with events that are so unique to
Steamboat Springs,” Givnish said. “The creative aspects of this position will allow me to continue to
expand on the Western and Olympic traditions that Steamboat is celebrated for, while incorporating fresh
event concepts into our community.”

Before moving to Steamboat Springs, Givnish produced events including music and arts festivals,
conferences, awards ceremonies and press conferences. She is a graduate of West Virginia University
School of Journalism with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations. She is also an avid skier, golfer
and world traveler having just returned from a world tour.
