| 12/7/07 - Denise Bohart Brown, Dancy St. John, and Barb Sanders open art show |
Steamboat Springs, CO November 29, 2007 The Artists' Gallery of Steamboat launches its December featured artist show, "Other Voices", featuring new work from glass and fiber artist Denise Bohart Brown, painter Dancy St. John & printmaker Barb Sanders. Come to the gallery, view this spectacular exhibition and and meet the artists on Friday, December 7th from 5pm - 8pm at the show's opening reception. Refreshments will be served, and this event is free and open to the public.
Denise Bohart Brown: "This show is a transition for me, from a creative comfort zone the last few years, to a new, fuzzy place that I can't yet see. I am trying to push in a different direction, without a clear idea of what that direction is, but I just have to keep going, keep listening, and trust that I will find where it is I'm supposed to be."
Dancy St. John has been interested in the natural world for as long as she can remember. Plein aire painting, along with fly fishing, hiking and skiing, has proved to be the perfect expression for her affinity to the outdoors.
Barb Sanders: "I am currently working in photogravure to >capture the aging and disappearing ranch structures of northwest Colorado. This etching process, first used to publish photographs on paper at the turn of the 19th century, perfectly reflects the strengths of these old >wooden homesteads, barns, sheds, fences standing on crumbling rock and adobe foundations.
The Artists' Gallery is open Monday through Saturday 11am - 9pm, Sunday 11am to 7pm and other times by appointment. The Artists' Gallery of Steamboat is located at 1009 Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs with plenty of parking in the public lot across the street. The gallery phone is: 970.879.4744.
