| A benefit for Christian Heritage School music teacher Brian Houston, who died this spring in a motorcycle accident, will be held Tuesday, May 23, 6:30 p.m. at Three Peaks Grill.
"An Evening of Music" will feature a combination of jazz and spiritual music as a tribute to Brian, who was a key member of the music community in Steamboat Springs. In addition to teaching at CHS, he also worked with Strings in the Mountains Music Festival, Perry Mansfield Performing Arts Dance and Camp, Emerald City Opera and as a member of a jazz trio, The Usual Suspects. Brian left behind his wife, Christel, and four children, all of whom are students at the school.
The event also includes a live auction. Among the items are an armoire, a BBQ Father's Day picnic with renowned Steamboat chef Jacques Wilson, a scenic flight over Dinosaur, golf at the Sheraton and Catamount and week's stay in a luxury Steamboat home.
The Memorial Benefit begins at 6:30 p.m. with music and appetizers. Tickets are $25 and are available at the door, Christian Heritage School, F.M. Light & Sons and Soda Creek Western Mercantile.
