Colorado Preservation’s 11th Annual Saving Places Conference
February 6 - 8, 2008
Early-Bird Registration Ends December 21

Denver, CO – Early-bird registration for Colorado Preservation, Inc.’s, annual Saving Places conference, Feb. 6-8, 2008, is available through December 21 for just $140. After December 21, basic registration increases to $170.

Saving Places 2008: Promoting Colorado’s Heritage will take place at the historic 1770 Sherman Street Event Complex in downtown Denver, where more than 50 workshops, educational sessions, general sessions and offsite tours will be offered. Saving Places is the largest state historic preservation conference in the United States, attracting more than 1,200 attendees from around the country.

Architects and real estate professionals can earn continuing education credits at the conference. Colorado Preservation, Inc., (CPI) offers limited scholarships as well as volunteer opportunities during the conference. The conference includes the announcement of Colorado’s 2008 Most Endangered Places, Preserve America communities, the Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation and the Colorado Historical Society’s Stephen Hart awards. The conference will encourage focus on the importance of promoting and sharing our state and regional heritage and how to best collaborate to achieve preservation goals. Courses will address a broad variety of learning opportunities in building techniques, architectural conservation, archaeology, landscape preservation, planning, management, economic assessment, heritage tourism, preservation advocacy, organizational development and current events.
