Corey Kopischke, Bill Sanders Laura Wait open new art show September 7th!
Steamboat Springs, CO August 22, 2007 The Artists' Gallery of Steamboat launches it's September featured artist show, "Vernacular", featuring work from photographer Corey Kopischke, potter Bill Sanders and printmaker/painter Laura Wait. Come to the gallery, view this spectacular exhibition and and meet the artists on Friday, September 7th from 5pm - 8pm at the show's opening reception. Refreshments will be served, and this event is free and open to the public.

Where many photographers stick to one medium like landscapes or portraiture, Corey Kopischke incorporates many facets of the field altogether allowing his creative structure to be limitless.

Bill Sanders : "The pieces I have chosen for this show are an extension of my relationship with the earth as I "Normally, ceramics are either functional or decorative. By creating a series of boxes, I wanted to provide a tactile connection with the person the clay. Something to hold in one's hand without function other than to provide a container for a paper clip or a dream."

"In this series of paintings and prints I am exploring my fascination with haybales and other organic materials", says Laura Wait . "I have abstracted many of the shapes found in fields, as well as using the lines of grass to refer to the familiar texture of writing."

The Artists' Gallery is open Monday through Saturday 11am - 9pm, Sunday 11am to 7pm and other times by appointment. The Artists' Gallery of Steamboat is located at 1009 Lincoln Avenue in downtown Steamboat Springs with plenty of parking in the public lot across the street. The gallery phone is: 970.879.4744.

About the Gallery...
The Artists' Gallery of Steamboat is completely owned and operated by the 26 local artists who exhibit there. The gallery caters to a wide variety of tastes, interests and budgets. Represented artists work in an array of mediums: two dimensional works such as oils, watercolors, pastels, photographs and prints; three dimensional works such as jewelry, textiles and sculpture.
The work of these artists comes together under one spacious roof in Downtown Steamboat Springs. The artists/owners staff the gallery, adding a level of expertise not found in every large gallery, while simultaneously creating an environment that allows visitors to meet some of the areas most talented residents.
