SNIFF, SWIRL AND SIP YOUR WAY THROUGH THE FOURTH ANNUAL STEAMBOAT WINE FESTIVAL
More than 500 Wines, Food and Wine Seminars, and Dinners Prepared by Top Chefs Promise a Divinely Delicious Experience
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO—The Steamboat Wine Festival hosted by The Porches will dazzle its attendees with a weekend celebration of wine, culinary delights and outdoor activities August 2-4, 2007. Returning to this beautiful and charming mountain town for its fourth year, the Steamboat Wine Festival features more than 500 fine wines from around the world, on-site sommeliers, award-winning chefs, spirit seminars and cocktail creation classes, and a number of wine-themed activities that will provide an incredible celebration of the senses.
The festivities kick off on Thursday when guests will be “wined and dined” at the Wine on the Mountain Tasting & Kickoff Reception. The Gondola will transport the 200 attendees to the top of Thunderhead Mountain where they will enjoy an exclusive tasting featuring more than 100 reserve wines paired with hors d’oeuvres. The evening will also offer a meet and greet with a world-class wine panel as well as a live auction featuring fantastic items.
Friday’s line-up will feature the Stroll of Steamboat. Guests will be treated to a leisurely mountain afternoon complete with food and wine when Steamboat’s Main Street and downtown area come to life with vintners offering samples of more than 250 different wine selections accompanied by great eats.
Then on Saturday, more than 400 wines, live cooking demonstrations and Viking’s Steel Chef Competition featuring the area’s top chefs will create the ultimate wine-lover’s experience—the Toast of Steamboat Grand Tasting. While sampling the impressive list of wines, guests will enjoy musical entertainment and a silent auction.
Throughout the weekend, patrons will also have the opportunity to attend several Wine Makers’ Dinners at Steamboat Springs’ restaurants as well as a number of Wine & Food Seminars

The Steamboat Wine Festival hosted by The Porches invites attendees to a celebration of culinary delights, wine tastings and outdoor activities. Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the event gives patrons the opportunity to sniff, swirl and sip their way through the weekend with a fantastic Opening Reception at the top of Thunderhead, a Grand Tasting event, several Wine Makers’ Dinners, a variety of wine and food seminars and much more. The weekend provides an entirely savory experience with on-site sommeliers educating visitors on the intricacies of wine and wine making along with cuisine prepared by the area’s top chefs.

Wine on the Mountain Tasting & Reception: Start this wine weekend at the top…of Thunderhead that is. The evening includes a gondola ride to the top of the mountain where guests will be dazzled by breathtaking views while enjoying an exclusive wine tasting featuring more than 100 reserve wines paired with hor d’oeuvres. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to meet and chat with members from a world-class wine panel. Completing the evening will be a live auction featuring a number of incredible items. Seating is limited to 200 people for this all-inclusive event. Tickets are $85. Guests may pick up their tickets beginning at 4:30 at will call located at the base of the gondola.
Stroll of Steamboat: Wander down Steamboat’s Main Street and throughout downtown while sampling numerous wines and chatting with winemakers and winery representatives. Stroll stops are scattered throughout the downtown area and feature more than 250 different wines. Tickets for this event are $50. Guests may pick up their tickets beginning at 3:45 at will call located at the County Building.
Toast of Steamboat—Grand Tasting: Salute beautiful Steamboat Springs with the perfect blend of wine, food and entertainment. Held at the Torian Plum Plaza, the evening’s festivities include the highly anticipated Viking Steel Chef Culinary Competition featuring the region’s award-winning chefs. While sampling wine, with an impressive list of more than 500 to choose from, attendees will enjoy live musical entertainment and a silent auction. Tickets for the event are $60.

Wine, Cocktail and Food Seminars: Throughout the weekend, five grand master sommeliers, famous wine-makers from wineries like Chateau St. Jean and Beringer, and renowned chefs from around the nation will host seminars in the Steamboat Grand’s ample meeting spaces. Seminar topics will range from the proper way to swirl and swish to comparing and contrasting wines from regions around the world, as well as how to select artisan cheese and pair the proper wine with delectable dishes.
