The 2nd Annual Emerald Mountain Epic and 1/2 Epic will be the closing event to Steamboat Bike Week. It is a fun, supported, family and community-centered mountain bike ride that utilizes the vast array of world-class singletrack on the front and back side of Emerald Mountain. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event go to the Gold Medal Initiative of the Rocky Mountain Division of the USSA (U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association) . The mission of the Gold Medal Initiative in Colorado is to support development of top level Alpine, Freestyle, and Nordic Combined athlete projects with a goal of putting a Colorado-born athlete on the top step of an Olympic or World Championship event podium.
