Cooking Fundamentals at Elkstone Farm

Before we even put our aprons on, we will start with a short tour of the farm to see what is harvest ready for the day’s class – heading back to the kitchen with arms full of produce and our culinary gears turning. Cooking, like many other things, is simply about learning how to tackle a few fundamental skills, then putting those blocks together to build a meal. Have you ever wondered how to get everything hot and on the table at the same time? Never fear! Erin and Chereen are here! We will discuss how to break down any meal into a series of steps that will make the cooking process more approachable and enjoyable. We want you to leave our class feeling confident in your culinary foundation – with the ability to look at recipe and see merely a list of suggestions rather than a chain of commands. Eating seasonally means learning how to be flexible to the make the most of what mother nature is bringing to your table at the moment.
