Styling the 'Boat: Miranda Poneleit

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS –“I love everything about doing hair,” says Miranda Poneleit, hairstylist at Wildhorse Salon. Meeting and talking with people all day, making them look good and feel good and watching them leave happy are on the long list of reasons she loves her job.

Poneleit appreciates the open-minded, laidback attitude of Northwest Colorado. “I love when people let me influence their look,” she says. “I wanted to be an artist when I was younger, but struggled until I found I could create art through hair.”

“I meet so many amazing people that I wouldn’t get to meet without this job,” Poneleit says. “It’s also a great way to make new friends.” It’s safe to say she leaves a lasting impression on anyone sitting in her chair. One client liked her so much, she played matchmaker and introduced Poneleit to her now-boyfriend.

Poneleit moved to Steamboat four years ago, and the clientele change is a shift from her former state of Florida. She has been coloring and cutting locks for eight years, four of them at Wildhorse Salon.
