STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. — November 22, 2016 – The Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association announced today that Jim Clark, CEO, submitted his resignation effective immediately. Clark has chosen to move in a new direction.

“We appreciate Jim’s work on behalf of the Chamber,” said Dan Pirrallo, General Manager of Sheraton Steamboat Resort and the 2017 Chamber Board President. “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Clark joined the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association as CEO in September 2014. The Chamber staff, Board and Executive Committee members are grateful for his dedication to the organization’s employees and its many projects.

Clark was instrumental in rallying the lodging community to form the DestiMetrics partnership. He also embraced community involvement, participating on multiple boards, including Routt County United Way, Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs, Travel Industry Association of Colorado (TIAC), and Colorado Association of Destination Management Organizations (CADMO) chair.

"It's been a great ride here in Steamboat and I'm grateful for this opportunity, said Clark. “Now it's time to move on to new adventures."

The CEO position will be posted and a search committee formed in early December. Kara Stoller, current Chamber marketing director, will be the interim CEO.

“The Executive Committee has trust and confidence in Kara to lead the Chamber through this transition,” said Pirrallo. “Kara has been with the Chamber for nine years and is a valued member of the leadership team.”

The Chamber Board and Executive Committee will be reviewing future options in the coming months.
