Moots Introduces the Farwell and Expands Frame Finish Options

08/01/2016 10:53AM ● By Dan Greeson

The Farwell is the latest addition to Moots’ mountain bike line. The Farwell is a hard-tail mountain bike with 27.5” plus sized 2.8” tires, designed for all-day trail fun.  With the capability to switch to 29” wheels, the Farwell does double-duty as a cross country bike.

“The 120mm fork, short chainstays, and slacker head angle allows the Farwell to fly down flow trails and rip technical single-track”, said Jon Cariveau, marketing manager at Moots. “Swap out the 27.5” wheels for 29”, and the Farwell goes from fun trail bike to fast cross country machine in a flash.”

The Farwell is available to dealers now and will be on display at Moots’ Eurobike (hall/stand A1-110) and Interbike (booth #13134) booths.

The Farwell is named after an iconic North Routt County, Colorado mountain and handbuilt in Steamboat Springs, CO from Moots’ proprietary 3/2.5 Pi Tech titanium tubing featuring:

  •  44mm head tube
  •  120mm 27.5 + boost 110 fork
  •  73mm English threaded BB
  •  30.9mm dropper seat post
  •  34.9mm front derailleur clamp
  •  Boost 148 x 12 thru-axle rear end spacing
  •  Disc 160 rotor post mount brake
  •  2.8” max tire clearance
  •  2 water bottle locations
  •  Replaceable derailleur hanger
The Farwell is available in five stock sizes: (XS, S, M, L, and XL). Options include: Internal electronic routing, fender mounts and rack eyelets, polished or etched finish, engraved head tube, and color decal options. Like all Moots bikes, the Farwell is handcrafted to the highest standards to last a lifetime and comes with a lifetime warranty. MSRP for frame and fork: $4789.00; complete bike as pictured: $7899.00.  Visit moots.com for complete details.

With the introduction of the polished and blasted finish option, there are more ways than ever before to customize a Moots frame. Available on all Moots models and during the frame refinish process, this multi-step approach ultimately brings a chrome-like surface appearance on the frame where decals would normally be located. Additional finish options include: polished with engraved head tube, etched with or without engraved head tube, classic satin bead blast, and paint ready. Solid black decals or white decals with colored outlines can be matched with anodized seat collars, stem face plates and seat post side plates. For all finish and decal options visit the new Finishes section on moots.com.
