Matt Roberts Named Ticket Office Director for Steamboat Ski Resort

Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation (SSRC) announced the addition of Matt Roberts as newly appointed Ticket Office director for the resort. Roberts has been a member of the SSRC marketing team since 2013 and will shift to his new position effective June 27.

“With a solid foundation of sales and online ticketing familiarity, Matt brings a unique perspective to the ticket operations at the resort,” said Katie Brown, vice president of sales and marketing for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “We are thrilled that he will be heading the department as we continue the transition to RFID technology and focus on engaging with our local and destination guests.”

The Ticket Office director is responsible for overseeing ticket office staff and daily operations, working hand in hand with multiple departments across the resort to ensure a simple and straightforward experience for guests, RFID and other ticket product management, guest relations and other duties.

“Having worked on the technology side of Steamboat’s ticketing system, I look forward to sharing my knowledge with staff and ultimately directly to the guests,” said Roberts. “Watching the team seamlessly handle the transition to RFID gives me the confidence to lead this talented department into the future of ticketing services at the resort.”

Roberts brings a wealth of sales, marketing and guest services comprehension to his new position, with nearly 20 years of experience. Before joining the SSRC Sales & Marketing team as digital marketing manager, Roberts did digital sales, social media and web design at the Steamboat Pilot & Today.  Prior to Steamboat, Roberts did business development, marketing and web design for Dex One and Peak Fifteen Interactive, LLC in Tallahassee, FL, as well as website design, development and marketing in Thomasville, GA, and at Snow Leopard Mountain Sports in Golden, CO. He began his career with United Airlines as a flight attendant based in Denver, CO.

An avid skier and mountain enthusiast, Roberts was a ski instructor at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Beech Mountain in the 1990s and competed on the Appalachian State University Ski Team. Today, he competes in triathlons, road cycling, mountain biking and other pursuits across the country. Roberts’s passion for sports is highlighted in his community commitments serving as the executive secretary for Routt County Riders since 2013 and working on the Steamboat digital marketing team for the 2015 USA Pro Challenge.

Roberts graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in business management from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., and resides in Steamboat with his wife, Marietta. Roberts, along with the entire ticket department, will now report directly to Katie Brown, vice president of sales and marketing for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation.
