Live music fills the mountains during Steamboat’s ski and snowboard season as the Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series kicks off its 16th year of featuring free concerts from the hottest bands throughout the season.

“It’s hard to believe we’re celebrating more than a decade and a half of free music in Steamboat through the Bud Light Rocks the Boat shows at the Steamboat Ski Resort,” said Rob Perlman, senior vice president of sales & marketing for Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “This is an amazing lineup of talented artists, and there isn’t a better way to enjoy an incredible outing in the mountains than by combining Champagne Powder® snow with plenty of sunshine and a free concert by some of the hottest bands around.”

The season kicks off with a healthy dose that combines soul, rock, funk, pop, hip-hop, and gospel in a high-energy version of contemporary country as LoCash Cowboys performs for the annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill, celebrating its 41st anniversary this season.

No BS! Brass takes the New Orleans brass band into uncharted territory, fearlessly combining elements of James Brown, John Coltrane, Michael Jackson, and Led Zeppelin into its fiercely original sound when the band rolls into town for Steamboat Mardi Gras in February.

Steamboat turns up the heat for spring break in March with weekly shows by The Groovetrotters, Nahko and Medicine for the People, 6 Million Dollar Band and the Wheeland Brothers.

In April, Steamboat’s Springalicious Festival closes out the Bud Light Rocks the Boat Concert Series with a high-energy on-stage performance by The Motet; followed a week later by an end-of-season closing weekend double header featuring a very special show (announced at the end of February) on Saturday, April 11, and Steel Pulse on Sunday, April 12.

The Bear River Terrace showed that it is the place to be, providing the ultimate viewing spot for all the Bud Light Rocks the Boat concerts this past season.
