Half Marathon and 10K
Sunday, June 2
Run alongside the rushing waters of the Elk River, amid the rural pastureland of North Routt County, with the snowcapped Rockies as a backdrop. The Steamboat Marathon is ranked as one of the top 10 destination marathons in North America.
The full marathon begins at historic Hahn’s Peak Village, near Steamboat Lake, and descends from 8,128 feet, through the rolling hills and into the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs, where the elevation is 6,728 feet. The half marathon begins at the midpoint, while the 10K takes runners through Strawberry Park and Old Town Steamboat.
.25th Annual Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup
Thursday-Sunday, June 13-16
More than 400 Mustang owners from Rocky Mountain Mustang clubs convene in Steamboat Springs over Father’s Day Weekend. Activities include a scenic road tour, autocross, Friday night social event, the Show n’ Shine Car Show and awards breakfast.
Spectators are welcome at the Autocross in the Meadows Parking Lot, where more than 180 Ford Mustangs compete in this timed event. Visitors are also invited to stroll down Lincoln Avenue on Saturday during the Show n’ Shine, when more than 450 Mustangs are on display. Both events are free and open to the public.

Steamboat Springs celebrates Independence Day with traditional, small town style. A hometown parade ends in a dance party in the street. Events like the Pioneer Days Block Party, featuring a free concert and root beer floats for kids, and the Ranch Rodeo, where local ranchers demonstrate their prowess on a working ranch, celebrate Steamboat’s western heritage.
Don’t miss the pancake breakfast, take a float down the Yampa River to cool off, and head over to one of the biggest nights of the summer Pro Rodeo Series. After the rodeo, keep your seat and watch one of the largest firework shows in Colorado.

39th Annual Art in the Park

The Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park offer artistry and color, both on canvas and against the backdrop of Steamboat’s pure blue skies. Get to the launch grounds early to see the balloons inflate, and if you’re lucky you may even be asked to help crew. The rodeo portion consists of contests like dipping into Bald Eagle Lake.Enjoy an early-morning snack from one of the vendors as you watch the colorful balloons.
Afterwards, head to Art in the Park and visit 140 artist vendors, catch live entertainment, and let the kids play in the interactive art area.

A premier destination event, the Steamboat Wine Festival attracts master winemakers, culinary greats and distinguished guests, who gather to play, drink wine and dine. Experience more than 100 food artisans, wineries, breweries, distilleries, epicurean purveyors and locally made products. Food and wine tastings, seminars and cooking demonstrations, plus outdoor adventures combine for a delicious sample of Rocky Mountain living.

A festival of visual and performing arts, including dance, vocal performances, concerts, art displays and literary and culinary arts, the All Arts Festival enters its fifth year as one of Steamboat’s most all-encompassing festivals. Stroll among nationally known artists, attend an outstanding musical performance at the famed Strings Music Pavilion, or explore the many local galleries.
.Ninth Annual Wild West Air Fest
Labor Day Weekend Celebration
Friday-Monday, Aug. 30-Sept. 2
Labor Day Weekend in Steamboat Springs is packed with entertainment in the air, on the mountain and throughout town. On Saturday and Sunday, the Wild West Air Fest features a vintage and war-bird static aircraft display, classic cars, radio-controlled airplane shows and Wings Over the Rockies KidSpace, a variety of hands-on activities for kids and adults. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for youth ages 12-6, and free for children five and under.
.Fifth Annual Steamboat OktoberWest
Friday-Sunday, Sept. 20-22
Music, food, beer, games and a cook-off highlight Oktoberfest, Steamboat-style. OcktoberWest begins Friday night with the Pedaling Posse, where participants visit local restaurants for Suds & Grub, with beer tastings and food specials.
Saturday’s events include the I Love Beef Cook-Off. Vote for your favorite restuarant while sampling the best of Colorado beef.
Burgess Creek is flowing and the festivities surround the promenade at the base of the ski area. Kids can try their hand at roping with the Ranch Roundup Games, or play at the Gondola Adventure Zone. Enjoy a refreshing beer during free concerts, featuring Wheeler Brothers and Mile Markers.
