Steamboat Springs area business owners and potential incoming businesses have a new, comprehensive online resource with the launch of a collaborative website created for the business and entrepreneur community.
The website, www.SteamboatBiz.com, was created through a yearlong, cooperative effort among the 25-member volunteer Steamboat Springs Economic Development Committee, Routt County, City of Steamboat Springs, Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat and Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association.
“This new website will provide any prospective business looking at Steamboat with the information they need regarding our community and the assets it brings to the table,” said Chamber CEO Tom Kern. “The site also will provide our existing business community access to information they will need to help their business grow and prosper. Steamboat has always done a good job in assisting its existing businesses, and now we have an additional online tool.”
Kern said the launch of the economic development website is the “first step in moving our community into a new era of economic development.” He noted the project would not have been possible without initial funding from the Routt County Board of Commissioners.
SteamboatBiz.com includes pages of information about financial, strategic, networking, demographic and professional services for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Data for the site was compiled with assistance from the nonprofit Yampa Valley Data Partners and the Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center at CMC. Photographs for the site were donated by businesses and individuals in support of local economic development efforts.
“This website will be a great asset to the businesses, current and potential, by providing the access to local resources that can assist with business development,” noted Routt County Manager Tom Sullivan.
As part of ongoing county economic development efforts, the Chamber also is assisting in the creation of a new website for the South Routt Economic Development Council and will contribute to the Hayden Economic Development Commission website.
Kern encouraged businesses and nonprofit and civic organizations to add the www.SteamboatBiz.com link to the local resources section of their websites.
