This modest 1986 home has been transformed into a warm and comfortable masterpiece that finally takes advantage of its tremendous views over meandering Soda Creek. A revamped floor plan and clean, natural architectural elements like steel collar ties, extensive glass and a modern fireplace blend seamlessly with the existing structure, making it hard to distinguish old from new. While the old house required you to go outside to experience the extraordinary natural setting, the new spaces invite the outdoors in.

The transformative remodel involved repurposing three existing spaces and adding only 551 square feet of living space. A secondary bedroom was converted into a spacious four-season mudroom. The existing living room became a new formal dining space with twice the seating. A great room got a 12-foot exterior bi-fold door and extensive glazing so you can sit on the couch by the steel-paneled fireplace with its exposed aggregate concrete hearth and enjoy the up-stream views of Soda Creek. The existing recreation room became a teenage girls’ dream bedroom with fun light fixtures, a new closet and desk area, plus her own bathroom highlighted with sea-glass tiles.

Finally, adding 417 square feet of covered and uncovered deck spaces gave the family extended fair-weather space off the great room and a covered barbecue and dining space directly off the kitchen.
